BINTANG INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME
Almost two decades ago, as a young man pursuing my chartered accountancy articleship in London, I accidentally stumbled upon the world of private equity.
This experience changed the course of my life, and kickstarted my journey into private equity which turned into a lifelong calling.
When I founded Bintang, I felt very passionately about being able to share the world of private equity with young people who were about to take their first steps into the working world.
To this end, the Bintang Internship Programme was created to offer pre-university, undergraduate and postgraduate students an opportunity to be a part of our close-knit team during their academic breaks.
Our dream was for future interns, during the time spent with us, to be exposed to the full spectrum of private equity work; giving them a well-rounded experience across not only primary investments but also portfolio company management.
Our interns are typically involved in the following activities:

In-depth research on various industries and companies located across ASEAN

Analysis of financial information and formulating views around their analysis

Assisting in the preparation of deal evaluation reports

The Bintang Internship Programme was created to offer pre-university, undergraduate and postgraduate students an opportunity to experience the world of private equity. We are passionate about developing young talents that will one day be the societal, political, cultural and industrial leaders of our country and region. We have had students from various backgrounds, including Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Engineering, and more, who walked through our doors and are now building their professional skillsets in banks, corporations and startups. We believe that their internship experience has given them a stepping stone to fulfil their potential.

The internship is available twice a year, in July – August and December – January.
As an intern, you will be involved in the following activities:

Conducting in-depth research on various industries and companies

Analysing financial information

Preparing deal evaluation reports

Presenting investment theses
Our interns gain valuable learnings from their two-month internship, including:

Hands-on and practical learning from cross-departmental structured sessions such as valuation and modelling, legal, presentation skills, and career development

Networking with speakers from various industries and from different walks of life

Inspiring stories and backgrounds shared through 1:1 chats with the internal Bintang team
