These lists are curated to spotlight startups who recently raised funds.
Blue Planet recently secured USD35 million of funding from IFU whilst Bitsmedia secured USD20 million in Series A funding – achievements which earned both spots on the lists.
Blue Planet is a global pioneer in sustainable waste management and operates across Singapore, Malaysia, India, and the United Kingdom.
Their innovative technology-driven business offers end-to-end waste management solutions, including landfill reclamation, waste-to-energy facilities, and e-waste recycling.
Bitsmedia is the force behind the globally recognised Muslim Pro App with over 150 million downloads, designed to seamlessly integrate into the daily lives of the Muslim community, whilst Qalbox is their newly-launched Subscription Video on Demand (“SVoD”) streaming service hosting one of the largest video libraries of Muslim lifestyle content celebrating Muslim identities and cultures globally.
This inclusion of both Blue Planet and Bitsmedia in the list is also a tacit validation of the work that Bintang is doing to create impact through our investments – that great companies can grow out of impact strategies: whether in the case of Blue Planet whose commitment to embrace a fully circular economy is being expressed via their innovative waste management solutions, or in the case of Bitsmedia whose dedication to providing a digital home for Muslim media is creating an inclusive voice globally for the Islamic community.
